Thanks for the links Johny, I liked the video featuring the band Alabina...Looks like a nice location too, it makes me want to visit the Amazon or somewhere suitably Aztec in feel. :)

I haven't had a chance to listen to the other songs fully yet, but at first glance I liked what I heard (can you glance at something you are listening to??).

Here is a track I came across in a strange way, it is on my iTunes as a Laura Pausini song, and I went to YouTube to find it for you...It is not by Laura Pausini at all but I thought I would still post the link as I like the song very much and feel committed to sharing it now, lol.

It is good to be dedicated about these things...I love the chorus, turn up your volume as the link seems to play a bit quietly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FApL_LBgXPA&feature=related

Crowman...I have a feeling this song will not enrich your life at all, although if I mention that the words of the song feel reminiscent of some of Craig's poems, maybe you will look more kindly upon it.

I aspire to write a song like this one day ;D, watch this space...

OK this is becoming an unhealthy obsession now...Here is a track I adore (play it loud and turn down the lights), and I will smite anyone who chooses to disagree. You have been warned, lol. It is the official song of my new religion, hehehehe.

Glad you liked what you glanced at Cazoo :) I feel you can glance at something aural perhaps - is there an equivalent involving the ears rather than eyes? As you like ambient trance, and I do feel you're a girl of impeccable taste, I think you'll get something out of the Biosphere samples :)

I'll have a ponder - thanks too for these new links, I'll have a listen soon (don't have the opportunity right at the moment, but I will do) Cirque de Soleil - I've wanted to see them for a long time actually.

Oh Crowman - you have a Message (I have somethihg to send you!)

Thanks Crowman - just read your message, will post Saturday!

Thanks again for the links Cazoo - I like both of these :) Elisa song is a bit different, I like the driving guitar undertow, and her flexible voice. (not a bad video, a little cliched, but hard not to be really. I mean it would be different if she sang it upside down suspended from a tree, but that spectacle may detract from the lyrics) It is a song that I wanted to listen to till the end (and explore more of this pretty Italian lady's work). Also like the Cirque de Soleil (anything to do with the circus troupe?) 'Alegria' - this reminds me a bit in its interesting percussive backdrop to some In The Nursery, and is a rich, multilayered song that again I like listening too :) Another good reason to become a disciple of Cazooism :) :)

Actually, I liked the Cirque de Soleil track, especially the musical arrangement. Love that metal percussion thing.

Yeah In The Nursery use a lot of that type of sound, to very dramatic and rather pretty effect. I think it's what I really liked in the track too

Just thought I'd post shouts, big up and nuff respect to 2 albums I've been playing heavily recently.

First is latest by Tears for Fears 'Everybody Loves a Happy Ending' (the one I bought in Kirkcaldy Craig :)) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Everybody-Loves-....8535952&sr=8-10

- I'm a huge fan of the Tears anyway, but quite seriously I think this is up there with their best. A more upbeat, Beatles feel than their previous post-80s stuff (eg the darker more introspective Elemental), with Curt Smith back on board, in fact reminiscent of Seeds of Love album - some sublime moments on this (and worth going for the limited 'UK Version' with 2 extra tracks) :)

Very recent purchase of mine is...new one by Engineers, 'Three Fact Fader'! I've only just started playing this, but oh my word it's superb!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Fact-Fader....48535876&sr=8-1
This is Engineers at their best in my view, and they're a relatively new(ish) band - sublime, psychedelic, trancy shoegaze indie rock, like Chapterhouse with this time I feel influence of their friend Ulrich Schnauss. Really liking this.

Johny, forgive me, just seen this post!

I liked Tears for Fears anyway, particularly 'Woman in chains' which I thought was a tremendous track, and the classic 'Shout'. It's good to see their new album follows on in sublime style; I think I should probably buy this.

The Engineers - well, loved the the three tracks you put on a CD for me - great band and a superb find...!!

I do recommend it Craig, just playing it makes me feel happy :) There's always been something beautiful about Tears For Fears' music I think (even their darker 'Hurting'-era songs) Well, if you liked the Engineers tracks...you'll definitley going to like Three Fact Fader :) It is in my humble opinion superb, and has those moments where you just have to stop what you're doing and bask in the beautiful sounds. In fact playing it again today, I was again stunned by some moments on this album, those "what the..." moments :)

I've just had a 'what the...' moment with Chandeen's 'Teenage Poetry' again...what a stunning album it is!

Once I've listened to the Engineers I will post a review :) still not listened to it!! But this weekend is a quiet one, so it will be played!! :)

A karma for you sir, for your empathy and connection with my musical journey :) It is a sublime album isn't it, in fact Chandeen are truly one of the jewels in my collection, totally where I am at with their Floydian soundscapes and feminine gothic lyricism. I've felt choked a few times with the beauty and gothic power of Teenage Poetry album.

I hope you like Engineers mate. Great played loud, and there are some tracks, eg the 'suite' of tracks towards the end, that induce in me the "What the..." reaction :)

Just wanted to announce that for some reason ALL of my favourite bands are releasing NEW albums at the same time!!! Talk about expense!!

We have Tangerine Dreams' latest offering of the Five Atomic Seasons, this one 'Winter In Hiroshima' (an essential purchase as the first three were exceptional)

We have Porcupine Tree releasing 'The Incident', a double disc delight...you can pre-order it on Amazon already!

We have Clan Of Xymox releasing 'In Love We Trust'...another delightful gothic rock/synth romp!

Even Howard Jones is pre-ordering on his website for his new album in December...I'm going to be skint!!

Ooops, and dare I mention I've just ordered one of the back catalog of 'The Frozen Autumn' entitled 'Fragments of Memories'? Thought not...

...You can get to all these bands' official websites from my links page on my new website (shameless plug here): http://www.craig-gilbert.com/links.htm

;D

Thanks Craig - what a line up of new releases! Great stuff. Can't believe there's a new double Porcupine Tree CD out soon as well, an absolute class must-buy. And new album from Prefab Sprout - that for me is also a great event, will be buying for sure - I was completely unaware of this! (thanks for the link, the Sprout in fine, blissful form again!)

Oh, and just to add to the list, on Monday new album by A Mountain of One came out, 'Institute of Joy', next on my list to buy :) :) (it's supposed to be awesome). here's a track from it:

I know what you mean mate about so many favourite bands releasing albums simultaneously, happy days :)

You're welcome Craig :) Yes it is a nice video isn't it. I bought Institute of Joy on Saturday - though haven't played it yet - it's one of those things that are such an event I'm just savouring it at the moment lol I will I strongly suspect pop it into my player towards end of the week. (There is method in my madness lol) Playing at the mo a second hand CD I recently bought, 'Gala' by Lush - they were a great British 'shoegaze' band of the early 90s, fronted by 2 ladies, the lead singer being half Japanese (I think). Dreamy swooning melodies, drenched in guitar feedback and some pleasingly aggressive tracks. Gala is their first release, comprising their first EPs cobbled together - and my favourite of theirs, there's something very vibrant and blissful about it. Here's some samples:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gala/dp/B001MYDR....52858633&sr=8-2

A Mountain of One coming up :) (and then Prefab Sprout!)

It's been sometime since I've contributed any new music, but this week I feel I've hit the jackpot with a band I discovered via the magical world of Twitter (I can sense the scratching of heads from here, lol).

Without further ado, I give you Pomplamoose Music and Single Ladies (Beyonce song, but don't let that put you off, this is a genius cover).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIr8-f2OWhs

Aside from being some of the funniest videos I've ever seen, the way the videos have been edited together makes a refreshing and entertaining change. I find the female vocals quite entracing, and is it wrong that I like her eyes so much??

Check out the other videos too, your day will be the brighter for it (I hope) :)

Thanks for this Cazoo - I enjoyed this, and really like the style of their videos and their unusual use of sounds and instruments. I also checked out Expiration Date which I actually preferred. It's not wrong you like her eyes, I see exactly what you mean, very expressive and rather, well, sexy :)

Thanks a lot for this mate, will check this band out :) I like the concept, and the look of them (if that isn't too shallow lol) :)

I've discovered some simply fantastic new stuff recently too, in fact I'm already planning a playlist for the next CDR to you and Cazoo and Crowman :)

This would have been well placed within the latest crow discussion, but as it relates to music I decided I should stick it here and pretend some semblance of logical thought...

...I get easily excited (I'm the first to admit), and the discovery of this band follows hot on the heels of many other eerie coincidences that are flooding my world at the moment...brace yourself, this is a good one ;)

I have to admit that this music will not rock your worlds, but I quite like it...it's a cross of several of my favourite bands, resulting in an 'indie-rock-guitar' sound that is easy on the ear:

The best thing about them though is how I found them, and I'm jumping up and down in my chair with the sheer spookiness of it all...So, I'm on t'internet to check train times for an outing this morning and can't quite remember the website address I want, so I make an educated guess...as I waited for the page to load I already knew I'd guessed wrongly, but instead of stopping it from loading, I waited to see what the American trainline website would look like (I'm curious like that)...

Well, blow me down with a feather with what I saw when the page loaded...I won't say any more, just click the link and enjoy the miracle of coincidences in this infinite Universe :P

http://www.trainline.com/us/home

I LOVE my life!!! I'm getting so many of these events I've started writing them down for future entertainment!

Yes, I can see why you got excited by this co-incidence. Definitely a case of synchronicity. There is something deep going on here for you, Cazoo. And for myself too, to a degree. The most important aspect of this is that you are aware of it!

Wow-ee! The word synchronicity sprang to my mind too Cazoo, when I saw another crow in your acciental discovery! It really is good that you are keeping a record of these...and I love your inspiring enthusiasm, so a karma for you :) By the way, I believe it was an Austrian biologist Paul Kammerer or something like that, who first brought the whole idea of synchronicity to the fore. His journals on the subject include the time he recorded, whilst sat on a park seat, the number of ladies wearing red coats who passed by in a set time, and was startled to discover, like his many other examples no doubt, how the occurences were 'bunched' together in a way random chance would not provide! (Perhaps there was a red coat fashion show that day lol)This crow thing though at the moment with you (and Craig!), I'm starting to feel something going on here too. As Crowman says, you are aware, which is a great thing :)

I keep seeing crows now...what on earth is going on?! Perhaps they know I'm writing my 'Gathering of Wings' poetry book...mmm...wheels within wheels for certain!

Interesting Johny about the random element and that colours (like red coats) are bunched together...years ago when I was lurking in IT basements doing computer work, we used many a randomiser piece of code - and interestingly, also, the same numbers appeared in a bunched fashion - which was quite alarming really when the code itself was written in such a way as to make the numbers appear completely at random...I almost thought the code was wrong when three '1's came out in succession!!!

Thanks Craig, and I agree with Crowman - in fact I REALLY like this! Fascinating, evocative and beautiful (nice video too) - just looked at the Siennaweb site, and will be buying mate! :) Interesting list of influences too, including the awesome Underworld, Future Sound of London and Chemical Brothers. Cheers - another addition or 2 to my ambient collection :)

Interesting about the random numbers Craig! I suppose, randomness doesn't suggest numbers shouldn't be bunched together, as that's a pattern in itself and therefore not random, but 3 1s - does rather stand out! Love the idea of chaos (not that I'm tremendously familiar with it), a butterfly's wingbeat in a mountain changing the weather in a different region of our world. Perhaps a crow flapped it's dusky wing when you looked at your piece of code Craig.. ;)
