Canvas
I watch your skilled painting; hands flicker, Dancing fingers flex and shimmer, Like glowing embers of a yearning fire, Challenging yourself to improve and get ever higher.
Your canvas is blotched with colour and madness, Anarchy makes you grin, teeth pristine in absoluteness! Wiping dribbles of paint from your brow, A piece of art constructs itself to your unknown.
Take me into your canvas. Hold me, bind me and caress. Take me into your canvas. Shower me, paint me and bless.
The colours merge and blend in subtle ways, Yet they link seamlessly, preventing decay - Your visions bring themselves free, as I see, Glowing monuments of irreplaceable glee.
Intricate, woven and guided by mind's love, A paintbrush arched, deflected and moved - Enduring pleasure created and preserved: A picture clear, born and well deserved.
Take me into your canvas. Hold me, bind me and caress. Take me into your canvas. Shower me, paint me and bless.
I wonder if this is what it is like in Crowman's workshop when he is painting?

Lovely way of expressing how a permanent record of otherwise transient beauty can be created and recorded for posterity by the artist. Inspiring.
Oh 'glowing monuments' - I couldn't help but think of the Porcupine Tree track (from Up The Downstair), 'Monuments Burn Into Moments', tho in a way this kind of means the opposite maybe... (The track titles on that album are so poetic as well aren't they)

Thanks once again!!
Yes 'monuments burn into moments' maybe subconsciously I was thinking of the Porcupine Tree song...who knows...
...re-reading this poem I'm thinking this isn't that great - I may well tweak this one again until I'm more happy with it...but to get comments like these really does spur me on, so many many thanks!!
