A karma from me as well my dear Cazoo Being a bit slow on the uptake at times, I looked at the image and thought that's cute and rather good...before the penny (farthing) dropped

Continuing the topic of crows, I have a question for our resident crow expert, on behalf of a good friend of mine...
Recently, my friend saw a gathering of crows where the birds were formed into a circle, apparently watching the altercation that was taking place between two crows in the centre of the circle. One of the crows in the middle seemed to be tearing a strip off the other crow, who was just standing there listening to what the other crow had to say.
My friend is wondering if this spectacle is where the phrase 'parliament of crows' was derived from?
Yes, of course I could have googled this myself, but seeing Mr Crowman's 'inner mushroom geek' in action gave too much temptation to give him an opportunity to give his 'inner crow geek' an overdue outing
Look forward to any insights!
PS Spooky coincidence, just as I was typing that last sentence, a crow on the back fence of my parent's garden starting screeching!!! I haven't seen any crows in their garden all week...

I look forward to Crowman's comments on this eerie and strange occurence too, but if I can butt in sounds to me from little I've read on it. exactly like the 'crow court' of country lore (I believe the country writer Kenneth Allsop has written about this, amongst other writers). Eerie too the crow 'materialised' when you were typing this Cazoo. Actually there's a recently published book, I'll have to dig out the details, about a lady (I think) who 'adopted' a crow, and the insights and yes, bond that was formed. It's readily available, and looks a fascinating and rather beautiful book

I can add to the 'seeing crows everywhere' discussion. Only the other day driving to work I saw a crow sat alone on one tree, then a mile later there was another lone tree, with another lone crow...and then a mile later there was another! Three crows in seven miles on my route to work. Interesting!

Maybe you've found your totem bird, Cazoo! The Otherworld reveals itself in mysterious ways. I won't say anymore as it's important to find your own way with these things, trust your own instincts, so to speak. Wonderful. needless to say, I loved the gathering of crows incident. Politics anyone?

Good grief Craig, that's pretty striking, those 3 lone crows in 3 separate trees at intervals. Pleasingly gothic your drive to work A lovely thought of Crowman's Cazoo, the crow possibly being your 'totem' bird. Here's that book I mentioned (largely about the rook, rather than the carrion crow, but still looks interesting; though some of the 'Customers Who Bought This Books Also Bought' titles looking perhaps even more so):

Well, the plot thickens! I saw Depeche Mode last night in concert (very good they were too) and in one of the songs the display screen behind showed none other than a CROW...for the whole song (about 5 mins) flying around behind the keyboards!

Thanks Crowman, you are, as always, a true gentleman and a scholar.
Good grief Craig, that must have made you feel slightly spooked, though not in a bad way This whole crow thing is certainly very interesting...

Maybe it's time to read "Someplace to be Flying" again, by Charles De Lint? If you haven't read it, check it out. You will love the Crow Girls!
